Wool Batts for Spinning, Needle-Felting, Quilting

I just finished washing and carding this wool from my sheep. They were sheared the first weekend in March and I am processing all their fleeces myself this year. ALL of them. ALL 19 fleeces. I am loving the way they are turning out too. This batt is gray  because I carded the black and white wool from my sheep together. It is so soft. I am selling wool batting in 1 pound batches for $20.00 each. The wool bating can be spun up, needle-felted, or used as batting in wool quilts.
I have been having a lot of fun dyeing my wool and experimenting with dyeing techniques. I sell these hand-dyed 4 ounce batts of wool fiber for $10.00 each. they can also be spun into yarn , needle-felted, or ????
This skul is from a 2 horned ram lamb and already cleaned and mounted on stained wood. The skull has a barbed wire hanger. It sells for $80.00.
I loved handling this pretty pink wool and carded some Wensleydale locks into it for fun. I am happy with how it turned out. These 4 ounce batts also sell for $10.00 each.
Just look at these colors ! I can't help smiling when I enter my little wool-works shop .
Red hand-dyed Jacob Sheep wool from my own sheep with Wensleydale locks carded into it. Reminds me of Christmas candy canes.
All of these items and more can be purchased here ~ My Spotted Sheep Shop. If you have any questions about any of these items or my shop please feel free to leave a comment. Thank-you for taking time to view my shop.

Wool Fiber ~ For Sale

I've been busy in my new wool-works shop carding wool I dyed this past winter. I love being surrounded by the rich colors of the new wool batts I've made for spinning, needle-felting, or lovkerhooking.
Each of these wool batts weighs at least 4 ounces and they sell for $10.00 each.

Close up of the turquoise ,blue & bits of yellow wool carded together
I also carded some blue batts, with varying shades of blue carded together...
... and red wool carded with Wensleydale locks.
These wool batts, or rolags, remind me of candy canes.

My next carding project is the pink wool you can see in the shelf. I am ready to work with spring colors now , we've had snow here at Laughing Dove Farm since the weekend after last Thanksgiving.
It snowed again today and we had another 4 inches added to the almost 2 feet of standing snow. It was cozy in my little shop as I carded wool and listened to the radio.
The view out my window earlier today. Beautiful and cold.

Jacob Sheep Lambskins for Sale

One of the blessings of having a large healthy flock of sheep is the ability to also have lamb for the table. Jacob lambs are a delicacy and we usually have only 2 or 3 I am willing to give up for this purpose. When we do choose to butcher a lamb we also keep the lambskin.
It takes me awhile to make the skin suitable to send off the tanner . ( Bucks County Fur Processing, Inc. ) I have kept the first few lambskins for myself. They make great rugs and throws . However, we now have enough for our own home so I am selling the lambskins on my Etsy shop.

If you're interested in purchasing a spotted lambskin check out my Etsy shop.

Wee Little Sheep ~ For Nativity Scenes

The Christmas Craft Bazaar is over and I sold many Wee Little Sheep *. The little sheep are my best selling item so this time of the year all my spare time ( is there such a thing as spare time ? ) is spent crafting the little sheep.
The shepherd in the picture is 6" so you can gauge the size and if the little sheep would work for your nativity scene.
I began making these little sheep almost 30 years ago after reading an article in a magazine (no longer in publication ) that described the little sheep Moravians made of clay and wool for their 'putz' , or Nativity scenes. I changed the crafting a bit from the old time Moravians' way making them a bit more sturdy. I believe I've easily made at least 2 thousand of these little sheep and still enjoy it.

I've started having even more fun with my little sheep by making them look more like my Jacob Sheep. I've only made 4 of these Wee Wonky Sheep though and not sure I want to sell them. They make me smile.

My Spotted Sheep Shop ~ New Listings September 2015

My Spotted Sheep Shop is in the process of being updated , but I do have felted balls available now * in my Etsy shop, more to be added soon. I am always making more of these fun felted balls.
Wool felted balls are not only eye-catching as table or shelf décor , they are wonderful as child or cat toys. Many of the balls I felt have jingles inside them making them more interesting to kitties especially. The balls are also great dryer balls. Simply toss them into the dryer with your wet clothes and they keep the laundry separated and static free while the clothes are drying. Unscented, chemical free, and reusable. After use they look good in a basket on the laundry shelf, or back in use as toys !
I will be adding some Wee Wonky Sheep to my shop soon too. I have several already finished and love the spotted sheep that resemble my real life flock of spotted sheep *, my Jacob Sheep.
I have handspun , hand-dyed 2 ply wool yarn for sale , and so much more yarn being spun up to be dyed and added to my shop or hand-woven by me into fabric, table-runners, and more.
This yarn is currently for sale , click here if you're interested.*

Just finished spinning up this pink wool from a blend of sheep breed fleeces. Some Jacob sheep, some Polypay sheep, some Romney sheep. I am considering weaving this yarn and a few other yarns I've spun up, into a scarf. Still thinking on it but most likely I'll list it soon in my Etsy shop.

NEW ! ~ Swirls In Moss Felted Balls

I love my flock of Jacob Sheep and especially love crafting, spinning, and weaving their wool. My shop shows just a few of the items I've made with the wool of the flock of spotted sheep that has captivated my heart and inspired me to create.
